3 down and its not even lunch and the young punk has 45 of your teams 60 runs....its not often that Adelaide finishes in a draw (just ask the Poms). Time for Capt. Clarke to step up once more........

Good thread Ted.
Day 5 Adelaide in 06 will go down as one of the best in Australian test cricket.
Give me a good test match any day over the other 2 forms of the game.

Super duper effort after lunch from your blokes - their scoring rate is approaching 2 runs a minute - who needs 20/20!!! 4/240 off 44 overs - 5.54 RPO!!!

After Calcuta in 2001, I never say we can't lose from here.
Allow me to recap:
Day 3: Australia with a 274 run lead send India back in to bat. At stumps India were 4/254 still trailing by 20 runs.
Day 4: Dravid and VVS Laxman bat all day - no wickets fell.
Day 5: Dravid scores 180 and VVS 281 and Indians declare at 7/657 and set Austarlia a target of 384 off 75 overs with a draw most likely. Australia all out and India win by 171 runs.

Unreal days play from my angle...you will hate this LL but I watched almost every ball or listened to it on the ABC.....Clarke had a day out today - early on he showed the true qualities to building a good score....if you knick - knick it through the gap in the field....if you miss hit it miss it completely....and if you are going to hit it hit it in the middle of the bat and it will go for 4!!! Legendary performance. He was on fire.....first player to ever score 4 double hundreds in a calendar year!!! WOW....thats some stat to own.

I still do not really like him but fully respect his cricketing abilities!!!! Big time. Love the Huss - good to see him going back to back as well.

Ted, I worked with Michael Clarke once when he was doing a promo tour for the SpeedBlitz Blues. I was the NSW Police rep, we did a high school lecture together and had a couple of nets rigged up in the high schools hall with a speed gun.

Absolute gentleman, had all the time for anyone that would want to speak with him or just shake his hand.

I have a newspaper clipping of myself and Michael, its up there at the top in my scrapbook.

Hi Stu - thanks for that.....I am sure he is a nice bloke and has a heart of gold - I guess I just did not used to like his show pony attitude from years ago with his fancy haircuts, earrings, clothes, tats, high opinion of himself, GF's - just his bling lifestyle I guess. The Katich incident never helped me either. I did have a yarn with him at the pub for about 10 minutes about 6 months ago and it did improve my opinion of him - he came across very nice as you experienced.....I guess I am just old school and like my cricketers to be a bit more blokey!! I think he has done a fantastic job since he took over as captain and his batting has been unreal.....so nothing but respect on that front.

^^^^^Ted, I agree on the 'old school' and 'blokey' part. I'm sure we share the same opinion of NRL players with diamond earrings.
Can you imagine a player walking into dressing sheds on game day with diamond earrings in Sattler's day.

I must say that over when he smashed 5 4's off Morkel was something to behold....irrelevant of how much of a 'bloke' he is!!!

We've had a bowl now & don't look so strong. Graeme Smith has scored 25 centuries of which Saffas have won 18 & drawn 7. If this holds a draw will be most likely I think, poor old Imran not having a good game so far & they are without Kallis to bowl in 2nd innings.

The Aussie team needs to finish this test off with a win. Anything less is no good.

Need to notch up a win while the legend Kallis has a bad hammy. That guy is easily one of the greatest of all time, considering the modern era elite level, and his all round attributes.

Did you see the Viv Richards Master Class at Tea time this arvo?
Mark Nicholas was froffing at the chance to chat to Viv, and ask some technical batting questions!

reckon the Broncs should go hard after Craig Bellamy & Cam Smith ..... try poach Israelite Foldup asap and ........ Greeter Wustern Sudney should go & pick up Kurt Tippett to spice up the Sudney Derbies for a couple of years

Geez I miss the Footy

Amazing finish to the Test. 5 days of ups & downs.

Smith's record of Saffas never losing a test if he scores a hundred is maintained. Fantastic effort by de Villiers & de Plessis as well as Siddle to keep bowling all day.

Looks interesting for Friday, short turnaround with no Kallis or Pattinson playing. Quinney dropped and choice between Johnson & Starc to be made.

If you haven't had enough action on day one here's a clip for the change of innnings, well done Aussie attack, rolled them in a day... Now hopefully Ricky can go out on a double ton...

First clip is kinda random, it's a trailer for a new surf movie... Second is Taylor Steele's new ones trailer..

Amla is on fire - nice to see him in action at long last. Quality player to watch. Smith is doing a good job as well. These two are smoking it.
