I have a nr without edges I would rather one with.
I don't ride long board comps and thats their log rule.
I don't believe it would make any difference to nose riding except maybe speed and the right fin can slow the board down if required.
for me why give away turning power for a comp rule
actually im wrong. edges would lift the tail- make it plane more than softer rolled rail.
you really want the tail to stay in the water then nose riding.
the whole concept for soft round rails and roll in nose riders is to keep the board displacing the water thereby dropping the board lower into the water making the board sticky so they, they being good nose riding ballet type surfers, can go to the nose
