I struggle keeping them straight...hit a perfect worm burner which got me my only par for the round

Hey if you eliminate yardage out of the game that one less thing to worry about

Yeah, one less thing to worry about...

But as Chrispy said, you still need to be able to hit them around the same distance and know how far you can hit each club.

Hi guys,

My son & I just got our Handicap's today. I'm 20.6, and Teo is 36.4... I thought 36 was maximum, but obviously 36.9 might be the maximum...

My son has mild skin eczema (yes, I needed Google to help me spell that!!)... And salt water gives him too much sting to enjoy the sea... So we play Golf together... He is only 7.5 years old... We play at The Sands, in Torquay... 5 Tee Boxes per hole... Pro, Mens, Casual, Ladies, Beginners/kids.

He drives it about 100m, and I'm good for around 200-230. But he gets 80m head start on most holes... I if I drive poorly, say 175, and smacks 110, he is actually further down the fairway than me!

Teo love his golf...

Mac, if you want some tips...

"Scratch Golf Academy" on Youtube, is about the best... He takes you through so many fundamentals of the game... Bite size 5min videos.
"Rick Shiels" has some good stuff too... He tests those M1's, and M2's...

Yep, M1's and M2's look sweet... Tiger is hitting them too now, I think M1's.

We're hitting Callaway's in our household. Teo has the X-Hot-Juniors, and I have the old X-Hot Irons, and X-2Hot Driver/wood/hybrid, but they are bundles into the "N415" or "N416" Package Set. We got a deal for around $1600 for both sets...

Lots of bunkers at our course, and PUNISHING rough... I'm hitting about 98'ish / 26 over. But the handicap system pulls that back into 20.9 (I said 20.6 above)... So I'm off 21... Basically, Quad Bogey 8 on Par 4, goes down as a 7, not 8... Plus my Birdie the other day, carries "more weighting"... So 25/26 gets squashed down to 21 with "the system"...

Golf - it's been fun watching my son develop his game... He loves it!... Me, I just like hitting several good shots, and several OK shots... Get the odd Par, and a few Tap-in Bogies... Plus I push a few into the extreme rough, cop my 2 shot penalties!... No drama!

My surfing days are numbered just bought another boat

Thanks Cobra, but my son likes the local track... Right on his back door step! He's only 7.5 years old... So we use an Electric Cart, so he actually enjoys it! ... But by the time he is 11 or 12, we will roam wider for different courses!... Although our course is very high quality... Easily Top 10 in the state of Vic... A tough track too...

Mac, we'll have a hit of golf sooner or later!
And, enjoy your boat!... The good thing about Golf, is no crowds on the course... Nobody trying to "steal your wave"...
