I've been riding bigger boards for a while now,10 x 23 1/2 x 3 1/2 and 9.6 x 23 x 3 1/8 and loving it,the other day I rode my 9.3 x 23 x 3 and hated it.Today back on the 10 footer and had a blast,GO BIG.

Vanders is going to really step up and enjoy his 10 footer in a couple of weeks.
Vanders you will not ride any of your other boards again.

I rode my 9'3" on Thursday arvo and had a ball on it....spent the rest of the w/e on my 5'10" though and really loved it! The right board for the right occasion if you ask me.....but I agree more volume than less for us more able bodied crew

Having an absolute ball on the 10x 24x 3 1/2 Alley Slider up to about 4ft.

Scored a couple of waves over the weekend that just ran and ran and ran. Not quite toes over the noose but getting closer!!

Can't believe how fast it goes.

Still riding the 9x23x3 Firewire when its a bit bigger and hollower.

beautiful 3 to 4 waves that day

ps i did see a guy on a 14 ft prone timber surf board one day . can't remember where now.

Yep, I have a longboard by Feral Dave at 10'1" x 23 1/2 x 3 1/2 and a short board by Wayne Deane at 9'4" x 22 7/8" x 3".

Riding OB's Munoz 10'6" epoxy showed me how much fun could be had on a big board, and my Diverse showed OB that he could ride a PU board so long as it had the right dims. He's cut a hole in it he loves it so much.... not many was get missed theses days.

Yes, I have been riding an 11' x 24" for the last week. The feeling of nose riding with so much board set is awesome.

Like with all boards, I got a bit bored and went back to a 9' 1" performance board yesterday. The thing felt like shortboard. While it "ripped" it did not have the rhythm or flow. This was confirmed when a good mate who is a retro fan commented I looked a bit off my game. On the other hand, a short boarder might have admired the floaters and odd tail slide?

Anyway, I had my 9' 5" logger ready for today's session, but a strong southerly hit early. I am also waiting to have a go at SUPing the 11' after successfully paddling it around on flatwater Sunday. As long as conditions are good I reckon it might be fun.

Oh, I should add the enjoyment I get on the big board has nothing to do with the ease of catching waves. It is all about the glide!
