I have just spent 10 days In Byron camped at Clarke's Beach.

Had waves every day except one, with size varying from 1' to 3' plus on the odd sets.

I love this wave as it is very predictable and consistent. Two sessions per day with conditions varying on the tides.

It suits this old boy as I don't have to think too hard about what to do.

I must say that there are a lot of good longboard surfers down there and a real good crew of female long-boarders too.

Sounds like a great week ET, lives for living and it sounds like you're doing a good job of it.

10 days surfing twice a day is pretty much all I dream about for my holidays. Envious you have pulled it off (bar one) and very glad that you have. We have missed your contributions but its understandable if you are holidaying! How was the food at The Top Shop? I love a good feed up there after a long surf to start the day. Did you happen to sample Happy Hour Cocktails at the Balcony ? Thats another must do for us. Not sure we will be doing a Byron holiday adventure this year as a few weeks in Indo is happening instead. Might sneak a short visit though as some friends have recently moved to Lenox and a long weekend might just happen

don't you just hate it when friends move to lennox and your now forced to visit

LL - I know what you are saying. Because I am such a good bloke though I am going to make the effort. Its a tough job but someone has to do it. They stopped in and stayed with us on the way north last week. I would like to be their first visitor but the next month looks unlikely - will wait for the water temp to drop

I have had some good.times at the pass with some good crew.....but how good is it? The place is a ****hole. Filled with tourist kooks,tryhard hipsters and the local knob smokers who are all fighting for the big fish in the little pond of fake coolness...

The pass sucks dog balls,the pass makes snapper look like a place.filled with rainbows and lollipops....

Tip,paddle wide and wait the better ones come and your already wider than the sand rock hugging crowd and have a free run into clarks.

Having a shot at what....what I posted is how I see the pass.....if I was to post about byron itself it would be far more scathing.

Just had a relaxing couple of hours with nobody out at snapper. So all good.

As I said I'm glad you had fun,sorry to disagree
