Thats a very amusing analogy chrispy,reminds me of an old joke on the difference between potential and reality which wouldn't be allowed to grace the pages of this refined and classy forum.

you just needed to point out how the swans did it ted as that is how any professional side would do it....

Yep. They are setting a good example - which is really sad that that even needs to be acknowledged. As you say - the best of the best are always treated differently. And it about time it was done more fairly. Thats why i believe an independent group that is held accountable in the public eye should be responsible for dishing out the punishment - not the club or the NRL for any off field indiscretion. Simple solution.

Ricardo - You could always show pics to demonstrate the difference between potential and reality

Potential & reality explained

<div class="message">
Little johnny asks his dad if he could help with a school essay;
"What's the essay" asks dad.
Johnny says 'it's about the difference between potential and reality... I don't get it, dad"...

"Potential and reality?..Ok", says dad... "Go and find mum and ask her - if the postman knocked on the door and had 1 million dollars, and said he'd give it to her if she slept with him, would she?"

So johnny finds mum and asks her the question...... Johnnys mum answers, "of course I would, johnny. 1 million dollars would set us up nicely"..

A bit shocked, he goes and tells dad of mums answer........ Dad says, "now go up to your big sisters room and ask her the same question....

So Johnny goes up to her room and says, "hey sis, if the postman knocked on the door and had 1 million dollars, and said he'd give it to you if you slept with him, would you?"
His big sister says , "like totally! I'd even take a selfy with all that cash and put it on FB!!!"

Johnny goes back to dad shaking his head and says, "Yeah she would too, dad!"

"Ok, son, your big brother is in the garage working on his car... Go and ask him", says dad...

So little johnny goes out to the garage and asks his big bro'..... "hey, bro" says johnny, " if the postman knocked on the door and had 1 million dollars, and said he'd give it to you if you slept with him, would you?"..... His brother laughed and said, " hell yeah johnny!. I could buy a v8, go to Europe, and move into my own house!"....

Shocked, little johnny goes back to dad and tells him "yeah he would too, dad"...

"Well", says dad, "there you go. That's the difference between potential and reality"...

"What do you mean, dad", asks johnny....

Dad replies...... "You see, son. This family has the potential to make make 3 million dollars, but in reality, all we have is 2 sluts and a f*ckn ******t.......

The advantages of living as an NRL player out of the Sydney fish bowl.
Brisbane peeps are to slow to get footage of the incident on their mobiles and load post on social media (if they have social media up there yet).
If it happened in Sydney all hell would break loose.

Laughing all the way to the bank...

"Corey Norman's off-field antics haven't cost him a place at Parramatta after the club officially locked in their playmaker on a $750,000 per season extension. Norman will remain in the blue and gold until the end of 2019 after the Eels worked through a range of salary cap issues with head office."

Well this is the first I have heard of this. League has been at the bottom of my thought processes this season - been having a year off - so not really paying much attention.

Scotty has clearly hit the nail on the head though - as I did not even know he had stuffed up again - so its not really been a headline issue down here like it would have been if Corey Norman had been doing it. Hanging in Tassie probably does not help either as they really love the league down here

My earlier thoughts have not changed sadly. And I am sure they will not - its the culture of the NRL and sport in general - good players get treated differently to others. I seem to recall Wayne dropping a player because he signed to go to the Roosters the next season. Turned out to be a legend of the game. So Wayne does have form dropping someone when it suits. But not when it does not. I don't mind the fact when he tries to bring players in who have gone through rehab but this seems a bit off.

Corey Norman getting rewarded is a classic case of why league annoys me. Parra are a shambles. He is a classic part of that shambles. He is a reasonable player so he gets rewarded for his misconduct - because no one else would want to go there. They basically deserve each other. A shame they have such a great coach. Otherwise I would love to see them hanging out down the bottom end of the table for a few long years as a reward for their crap - on and off the field.

I think Greenberg is a bit weak on a few of these issues. Bring in an independent commission on drama and then you can be at arms length from the process and never have to worry about it. Blame the commission / deflect attention to them. But at the same time let them know the standards that you want the game to be held up against - and make their performance based on that. Its a really simple solution.

The other really disgraceful thing I have seen this year was your union team last week - what had they been doing the last 4 weeks whilst our boys were playing finals (forgetting how to catch, pass, tackle, run, throw a line out, maul, scrum, kick etc) Bloody disgraceful - you should be hanging them out to dry rather than these league guys

Ted,
I recall that player was Justin Hodges who was dropped to reserve grade when he signed with the roosters.
And where did he end up ?

Snake man - Yes - sadly that will not be forgotten for a while. Your girls were the best team well and truely - as they have been the last few years.

Scotty - that's the point - they all do it when it suits - but only when it's suits - no consistently. So take these decisions out of their hands. Problem solved !
