I can't believe they havn't moved it to Winki....in the arvo when the tide has been up Winki has been smoking while the pros are battling it out at shifty Rincon.....easter crowds were rediculous until Sunday when it got big and surfed with only 6 other blokes.....go Jordy Smith that dude has bell ringer written all over his surfing
a couple of mates are down yr way for the comp and to take a few pics - they called me from Winki the other morning to tell me how good it was and uncrowded! Nice work Tux hope you get some more over the next few days.
Yeah, the waves have been so nice... so good... so much fun.
Jordy does deserve to ring the Bell some day.
Adriano is also a deserving winner. He has spent plenty of time riding Bells. I've surfed with him plenty over the years. He knows how to ride the wave, plus he gets busy on the waves, and does some progressive things. The judges love big power hacks, and round-house turns, but on good waves at Bells you can (sometimes) have enough time for at least 3 "money turns", before you work your way through to the section that backs off, before a shorey finish.
But it's the
3 TURNS I highlight. Adriano is one guy who can vary his 3 big turns quite a bit. The judges also like that variety.
First Brazilian to win Bells! Well done!
