Nothing to do with ego - just trying to get a bit of education out there. With SUPs banned at places like Angourie, Lennox Point, Honoloua Bay, North Narrabeen and Trestles (to name a few) we all need to be extremely conscious of our behaviour and be totally respectful of others in the water (beyond standard surf etiquette). I'd hate to see Cloudbreak or Namotu Lefts added to the banned list.
It's not just about dropping in either - running over people, bailing out in front of somebody or just generally taking too many waves are all actions that shortboarders (and cranky old longboarders) are watching us closely for, so they can add ammunition to their argument against SUPs in the surf.
