Bicheno SUP Weekend 2026 the full story
Friday saw the early crew score some fun waves at Redbill, Tony thought it would be a good idea to sneak further up the coast to a get a few to himself, but with his failing memory didn't remember that his little Toyota Yaris wasn't designed to tackle 4wd only beach access tracks, luckily some other SUPers where around and dragged him out. Friday as usual we all caught up for dinner, with only one member "forgetting" to pay for their meal, but learning pretty quickly you can run but you can't hide.
Saturday, the big day of competition brought clean contestable conditions with waves maxing out at waist high and warm water that saw some competitors surfing in board shorts only, which is rarely seen in Tasmania. With a slight increase in swell and a faint change in wind direction we were able to complete the surfing side of the weekend, followed by lunch thanks to the Davies family. After a big day some chose a power nap before heading off the dinner and presentations.
Sunday, with some bodies drained and battered from a hard day of surfing the day before didn't make it to the tech race, but those that did make it kept the spirit alive.
