A customs not a bad idea ,I had this 8,10 insane built last year for bigger waves It has the acid rocker line which i found good in bigger waves with a slight nose kick its 127.7 litres ,31 wide ,rounded pin ,

Shapers have their own ideas though and sometimes the outcome is worse if you focus too much on specifying elements of the board instead of telling them what you want it to do. If you have good access to sunova you could just order a custom flow from them since it already has a step.

Look I don't disagree with what you are saying. However, I would say that it is precisely those elements that one focuses on in any board design which gives rise to the outcomes you are looking for.

There are other design elements at play as well so stepped rails for one board may not necessarily translate to another. I haven't surfed either the Infinity or the Sunova so I can't make an informed opinion here.

The points you make are very solid nonetheless.

cheers Supster 7 ,some people say thinned rails are tippy ,but the rounded rails on this 8,10 insane x31 are just as tippy as the 8'8 flow 126,3 x 31 with the thinned rails ,the rounded rails are nicer to use in messier surf and large lumpy wave faces ,but they don't grip and turn as fast .Just for the record I prefer the thinned rails ,but glad I have both boards ,

Watch the video at the bottom.Interesting how Dave refers specifically to the rails as angular. One thing that I noticed is how small the deck area is for feet placement which tells me that the sweet spot for standing must by quite small. Could be wrong but that is my first impression.

You should not put your feet close to the rails anyways, see:

The 8.2 blurr is great for bigger, choppier days, it's a bit more stable than the 7.10 hipster. The hipster, as you would expect, is a quite a bit better for performance surfing IMO.

Dave which hipster is that? Do you have a photo along with relevant specifications.
