7 am dragging my sorry arse out of bed trying to get motivated to go one more time.
I broke my toe on a step (no not pissed) and all the skin taken off the top of my toes and my knees (from so much surfing) , and I think every muscle in my body is aching!!!
So we walked up the beach about a Km as Dylan told us about the Point break and when it would be best, then we had an about 300 meter paddle out to the point. There were about six or seven people out there on Longboards. A pretty consistent wave maybe small Day Yallingup but the two SUPs caught everything we went for!! You just jump on the front and they just cruise on a non-breaking wave amazing for an 10'8 Board and a 83 kg person . It went high tide so most of the others left (they've been there for the incoming tide) and so there's just four of us there for about 20 minutes and then just two of us there for the last 10 to 15 minutes and we just got a couple more each before we 900 meter paddle back to the cafe.
Amazing, I can imagine that break being like yallingup type wave, big but crumbly and again the boards did not disappoint. Easy to catch waves beautifully, turns really really well, lovely boards.
The resort was right on the beach break and was the perfect spot for sunset drinks.
I'm sure you'll be glad that this is the last report coming back from the Sunova road trip
So we got up at six, walked up the beach a kilometre and then paddled out the 300 m to the break. We're the only two out there but it wasn't really working but the tide was coming in so we got a couple of non-breaking ways -which is just amazing that you can just do that!! So just a little bit of a longboard nose riding surf.
Then we just waited and it really didn't get any better so then we did a K and a half paddle back to the main break and it was really nice. It wasn't closing out like before but it was still quite big and we just had a play in amongst the others, even when there's lots of people here they're still plenty of breaks along the beach so you never really competing with anyone.
This is not a renown surf break like the Maldives, etc. but fun all the same.
We drop the boards back.
Sunova made the difference, trying to surf with a rental Board is normally an absolute pain in the arse so to have top of the range SUPs to be able to try out is unbelievable.
Thank you Dylan and the Sunova Crew, so until this time next year..
