Lived in Africa, London and Australia Surfed shortboards into my late 20's then stopped....not sure why. Started again at 47 but struggled with short board take offs, crowded breaks and agressive locals. Then found SUP surfing ..... easy take offs, great views, easy to catch any size waves, easy to paddle long distance and non agressive crowds. Who would want to ride a tiny short board ? Oh ..unless you want to duck dive ....
