This, I guess, shows why red thumbs are bad: If micksmith had just redthumbed Kami, it would have meant nothing: we would not know what he was objecting to.
With green thumbs only, people can still voice why they disagree, and other can greenthumb their posts if they want to. Thus you get both meaningful disagreements, and a way to not drown the discussion with tons of "+1" posts. And people like Kami who do not feel like (or feel capable of) writing a articulate argument, can just greenthumb the ones they agree on.
... and as you can see, nobody has greenthumbed micksmith's post... which is quite meaningful :-)
PS: One solution could be very specific red thumbs, e.g: this is pimping, this is a warranty issue that should be solved with the dealer first, this is just troll bait. But I dont think it is worth the trouble, lets keep things simple. Just greenthumb the posts you agree on, or create one if you want to say something different than what has been posted up to now... so that others can greenthumb it.
