Seriously, I now use only mostly Quobba fins, but they really shine at high speeds: Nothing beats the C-Drives for the "kick in the pants" acceleration at low speeds: on take offs, re-entries, plus a lot of grip while padling. In Hossegor waves, with my fast boards, the Quobba work overall better, but I could prefer the C-Drives in other conditions and with other boards.

I am dreaming of the ideal fin: a Quobba fin with a wider base like the C-Drive, plus perhaps some Crinkles at the tip? ... and in the FCSII system... but I guess patents will prevent this to happen.

I think the design has value. That is not the first study I see that imply that it works.

However, by how much? For instance, winglets on the tip work. But I bought fins with them, and as the fin itself was not great, globally the fin was worse than a good traditional fin.

So, although "Crinkles" should be beneficial, whether a fin with them is worth buying is another story.
