Can anyone advise if there has been a review on the 2016 Atlantis Bam Bam. Can't seem to get much feed back from anybody!
Would like to hear from anyone who has one , with any positive , or negative thoughts on performance! I am specifically interested in the 6'10", but would be interetested in any thoughts regardless of size.

My mate has one, he loves it, but he is shorter and lighter than me. I had a go on it, but found it quite screwy like trying to surf a thick skimboard. To be fair the conditions were crap. He lusts after my deep hybrid BTW......

I haven't surfed one, but I do have a custom board that is very similar in size and shape. Surfing a thick skimboard is a very good way to put it. Makes days that would have been boring fun and days that would be challenging damn near impossible.

I have owned the 2015 6'10"Bam Bam and it is excellent in micro waves, I have also owned the 6'4" Bam Bam (demo preproduction model) and it prefrormed the same just smaller, for the price excellent value but only for small waves and do not expect to surf in the pocket - and it is almost impossible to rail carve ypur turns because of the thick fat rails :-)

Thanks guys, was planning to surf in small waves and sloppy beach breaks. Have seen a couple of clips in particular Colas surfing what seems to be a similar type of board. He seems to go ok. It's a pity they don't do a bit narrower with may be a more refined rail! Anyway I pick mine up next week in Qld. So hoping for some waves to give it a spin!

A bit narrower with a more refined rail would cost a lot in terms of liters of volume.

I dont know exactly how the current Bam Bam are, but yes, the original Bam Bam was a copy of the Gong Fatal.

It will be insane fun on small beachbreaks, and can handle some size, depending on your weight: On the Gong the rails hold suprizingly well, due to their shape (domed deck). Paddle speed will be quite limited, so may be a bit of trouble depending on your spot.

Do not hesitate to train on flat water, and micro waves, to get the hang of the timing for the takeoff.
Also, using 5 fins is a great way to handle it in bigger conditions (if you are not too light: having the board 20 to 40 liters more than your weight is the optimal range)

Exiled: the trick is to migrate the volume in the center and in the center/front, away from the front & rear rails.

crustaceous, for the $$ I reckon the bambam is awesome. "my mate" brenno has only had a go on my 7'6. It is a fantastic all round board for all the crappy days. I use it so much here in agnes-1770 that in 12 months it is now a lot of different colours from being patched up. Its definitely a bit sluggish when the surf gets good though. However, Brenno has not tried the 7'2 which is a whole lot better, but I can only use it when the waves are clean and glassy, and when they get a bit too big it does seem to get a bit out of control. (Thats when I get the carbon vex out) You need to get good fins on them. Must admit Brenno is right about my lusting after his deep minion and hybrid - but they are out of my reach $$-wise presently.

Thanks Guys, I picked my 6'10" BamBam up earlier this week. Surfed small clean beach break at Sunshine Beach, very impressed with boards performance. Came with a standard thruster fin set up, which I was a bit dubious about, but handled really well. I thought that with such a wide tail and overall width a quad would have been better, but yet to try that option. The best part was being able to stick the little beast in the car. Looking forward to some more waves, hope the swell picks up again soon!
