I was just listening to the most recent progression foil podcast and the foiltheworld guy was talking about a 925 for prone. I did not see that Armstrong website. Is this a new one not public yet. Any info about other ones too??

Would love some info on this foil as well.? Haven't heard much.

heard from distributor should be coming out end of this week. Slightly less wingspan, same shape as 1125 otherwise. Brian (on the podcast) sounded very stoked about it!

I just tested the 1125 for the first time (winging) and damn, definitely not an easy wing, but once i got used to the sensitive pitch control (my brain takes a while to generate new control loops), what a glide!

For the ones out there who are able to ride such wings, i can so see how they must be frothing for it to come out!

Yeah sounds too good to be true for sure!! Don't see how the stall speed could be lower than the 1125, and how it could be more user friendly. Outline of 1125/925 look very similar, and assume section is also similar (?)

Agreed that makes no sense. Did i read in that review its thicker in profile - if so might explain it.

What about this tail wing ?? Weird looking but seems like it works.

Is Armstrong the most "chopped" brand? They sell their tail wings with chop guide lines on them. People are chopping the new fish tail too. Why don't they just sell it the way it should be?

He calls the Armstrong HA the most user friendly easy to ride HA wing. How come no one I know in real life that has/had the 1125 likes it then? I don't understand these wings.

I think the chop lines are more of a marketing ploy as they added them after it became trendy to chop your stab. People are chopping everything to get more performance.
In my opinion people think they can just jump on the HA1125 and rip but it's just not the case. It has a learning curve even for experienced foilers and I believe people are giving up on it too soon. I also didn't like the HA1125 at first but it has become my favourite foil.
The opinion I've gathered from all these videos is the new HA925 is friendlier and doesn't have the learning curve of the HA1125.
Time will tell but I think I need this wing

Chopped lines are for marketing .. I dont think so. They are for what you mentioned later, for those that want to start on a certain wing, get better then chop it for more advanced riding.
For instance i just chopped my 232 (as i use the 232 for winging - the V tail for proning). Ready for more speed and turn as i move mainly into sink starting a small prone board.

whats the alternative? An axis style onslaught of multiple wing releases and entirely different series for that matter that aren not even compatible with older mast and fuselage. That only hurts the pockets of consumers and is a massive headache for retailers.


as far as chopping the front wings without given chop shop lines. well thats a different matter altogether. That in a way reduces the design "performance" for advanced riders in waves/big swell (which actually increases performance in those conditions) is purely consumer driven as crew become more specific in their riding. Again. armie could easily create another "surf" series like axis and flood the market with more wings than hot dinners.



ps i am seeing locally crew getting their head around the 1125 as well with some amazing results. To the point i am now considering it for the first time.

Agree totally, you have to invest some time learning the 1125, but the rewards are definitely there once you do.
Sounds like the 925 will be better for the instant gratification crew ,as they won't have to invest too much energy before they get the rewards.

Or it will allow advanced riders to push the boundaries even further. Learnt with kites, sometimes dumbing down performance is needed for more extreme riding and also some sizes suite a certain design than others.

Many guys using the 1125 for winging in light wind? Just ordered the 925 but not sure if the 1550v2 will be better or the 1125 for 10-18knts. Guessing the 925 will be amazing on the wing above 18 for my 87kg ??

The 1125 is my light wind foil. Once you get the pump up onto foil down it will go in anything the 1850 would. I'm 75kg for reference using 4'9" 70L Appletree and Dart 4.5m

Yes I am also wondering if the 1550v2 might be a more user friendly / faster to get up on foil then the 925 (or even the 1125) maybe someone has some experience or thoughts regard them?:-)

Surely its easy enough to work through your question. Of course the 1550 would be much easier to use over all but it wont have as much speed or glide. Depends on where you are at with your skills and what you are after considering all factors. HA wings far more technical but also very rewarding.

What I really meant is it maybe a better two wing combo/quiver - 1125 & 925 or 1125 & 1550v2 (I already own the 1250 and the 1125 is on its way) so I want to expand my horizons now and into the future ?:-)

The waves that I have been on so far have been too gutless & small 1ft & less for the 1250 so I have not really had a good feel for it yet the only real comparison I can make would be with my 1550v1 with cut off wing tips:-)

Same. Although i had a session with jason today - some waves were easily head high and he was going nuts on the 1125 and this tiny custom Flat tail. He rode passed me once on the same wave shouting "why ya going so slow Eppo!" Lol

Full banking turns (well as much as a supper can do - lol) and everything in between.

What about the stab ? What people think about the Vtail vs "classic tail" ? What is the pros and cons from the Vtail ?
