What about Forster?I came thru there at high tide, 40ft cat it draws 66cm and bounced along the sand bank just past the bridge, that was a year ago and would be shallower now.Amaroo cruises couldn't get out to the ocean and have now sold their boat.Last time they dredged it, they piled the sand up at one spot which then slowly made it's way back into the river, also they were offered dredging for free as long as the operator could keep the sand and they refused the offer.
At the moment the only way to get my cat out is to go out on a full moon high but I'm doing a full refit so not going anywhere soon.
The problems at Forster started when they put in the small spur wall near the marina on the south side.
The whole sanding up problem can be sheeted home to that action.
And as to Lake Macquarie, when are they going to extend the training walls on the south side into the lake?
That would fix the problem for good and save a lot of money wasted on dredging!
