He already had the moulds for the Flying Dutchman so making a plug would be dead easy! I treated my Flying Dutchman like a trailer sailer. Could walk up on the fore deck easy, they are very stable.

Yeah plus another 4ft LOA. And a very good basis for a trailer sailer as the RL24 proved, an Aust Design Award winner. The FD and 505 designs had their origins in the early 1950s.............and are still going strong. The FDs genoa was and is too long on the foot but the boat was a breakthrough design and the 505 improved on it when designed soon after and continues to thrive.

The LWL of an RL 24 is 19 ft 4 in. If you look at an RL24 on a trailer you can see an FD hull.
