I like to look at it this way. If you weigh 80kg plus, a wet wetsuit, harness and wet boots. What's an extra 2.5kg going to make for performance. I think bottom shape is far more important for light winds then weight. And for the pop it's bottom is perfect for speed and a locked in rail.

plus the heavier board has a knock on effect of lowering your center of gravity so it helps with your rotations.

Axis boards land super smooth, channels constant rocker and weight all make for pillow soft landings. Here is my ride...

Had an lf echo before the billy. Definitely does not get on the plane as easy as the lf board but that had a 2 stage rocker which I think helps heaps but once you are moving it is fine, you want to ride this sort of board powered anyway.

thank you! think i'm going to get a tranq. currently on my flow i ride on the second widest insert cause the widest is bad for my knees. i read that you should ride the tranq on the middle insert for optimal performance. do you know the stance width? is the stance really wide?

I ride a 144 CBL from 2015. Elliot will tell you its rubbish in light wind, although I beg to differ... sometimes . 2016 was a better board for wind, but i like the rocker on the 2015, since i'm a heavy dude, I tend to come down with a fair amount of force. I just bought a bigger board, I rode the Xcaliber before in the 138 which is not a dedicated wakestyle board. Most of them seem fairly heavy, I was going to get a Tranq, but I am stuck with the CBL until I destroy it again. Overall unless you are a pro, you probably wont notice the difference between boards, and if you are just starting out, make sure you get one that has some semi decent light wind riding.

true - but my flow is not decent for light wind so i'm lookin for another board. would like the livewire but i cant go to the cable with it, think the edgy tipps would get destroyed. tranq would fit my needs, just hope its better in light wind than the flow. similar to the pop would be nice

Not 100% sure on the tranq spacing but I ride the billy on the middle setting and it is perfect for me. I am 5 11 and 75kg and the billy feels just the right size for me.

I owned both of these boards. Livewire is a faarking sick board. It has a little more bottom end then the flow but it's still not the fastest, but well lit and it's probably the best board Iv used. It was the team livewire tho.

My last board was the 141 best profanity, it was ok, but if felt way to big, I think it needs more rocker. Now on the 137 profanity and feels much better.

I can ride it in 10knots with a 15m kite. It's the fastest wakestyle board Iv uses.

I would love to try the tranq one of these days.

I ride the 2016 Livewire (fiber glass) in 142cm with boots. I weigh 90kg.

When well powered is badass, but I feel it a bit heavy for light winds.

Anyway, you always give up something. If you want a lighter board you'll proly destroy it with boots, and if you want it to hold on it'll be heavier.
That sucks, I wish I could ride carbon fiber boards and don't care about them breaking.

cheers.
