Hey SC,
Just wondering if you got to compare the Reo and the BWS and maybe some of the other suggestions on here yet?
I have just been sticking to the Rev 08 and praying for 15 kts min.
Not too bad lately ;) but I only use the waves as speed bumps as i'm still learning staying upright at this stage.
Let us know how you're doing m8
Good luck
Cheers

No havent got to demo any yet, every time its good i just run down with the kite ive got. I didnt think the kite would last much longer, but all credit to the old rev 2 its still going strong.
I did get a brief go on mates 10 mtr bws a while back just cut out then in twice it felt stable and predictable but didnt get a long eough go to properly comment. he is learning and i watch him crash that kite constantly and its still going stong.
I do however have a ozone instinct light 14mtr picked it up for 300 bucks and this thing gets me going on days when no one else is out so for those light wind day that thing is awsome.
also had an rpm 12 mtr thought i could use it in lite winds but it tended to back stall in the lighter stuff so now its the ozone up to 15 knts and the rev2 9 mtr any thing over.
Soon as i get to ride the bws or ozone will definently comment but would love to hear anyone elses opinion till i get there.

If you only want to ride waves and live on the sunshine coast I would recommend a 10m Reo.
Just demo & make up your own mind.

Topple, Dont you mean a 10m Reo and an umbrella?

Ha, your not wrong there mate.
And must add that Reo,s are only any good with a surfboard, forget the TT.

Thats just soooo not true. Reo's are awesome on flat water on a TT, they boost well, unhook well and loop really well, but the biggest one is a 12M (feels like a 10M in any other brand).

Why ain't anybody mentioning the F-One Bandit? From what I understand it is a brilliant wave kite and used by many in Cape Town?

Also as I understand it both the RRD Religion and RRD Vision are very good wave kites

I ride a 6m reo on the TT. its a insane gust muncher and gets me out in wild conditions that others don't even consider kiting in. But in the 6m size its not a boosting kite at all. if you want to launch big air look for another kite.

All you have to do is ride a Bandit in flat water to understand that its not going to be any good in the waves. They're really grunt, have heaps of pull through turns, have massively long bridals and they require constant bar pressure to stop them turning down towards the water.

My thoughts of them anyway.

Surf boy is that a bandit 4 or 5 you are talking about as I'm a bit mixed up as my bandit 5 doesn't suffer the habits are are describing , there is a big difference between the 4 and 5. Very different kites , check out u tube to see why and watch the wave clips.

Haven't tried the B5, only the other 4 models.
How does the new one go as you ride towards it cause the other models used to hate slack lines.
And my number one hate with the <B4's was when unhooked they always turned down, terrible for wave riding. Does the new one still do this?

Hey Sunnycoast. I had Rev's that I used for wave riding for 4 seasons. Tried many kites that all (mostly) flew well, but none that had the same feel as the Rev's which are a very positionally sensitive, light-ish bar pressure, and fast arc turning kite (generates power while turning.) Then I tried the Ozone Reo and bought it. The 10 Reo feels a lot like a Rev 9 with the benefit of increased wind range, better drift, and more control of the kite's power with slightly more bar pressure. They are small kites for their printed size, but at 80kg I don't need anything bigger and am up and riding when others on 12's are struggling as much as I am. Hope you get a chance to try one, I set up the bar so the steering lines are on the knots closest to the bar. You won't be choked up and can use the trim strap if you unhook a lot to keep the kite from stalling.

Nope is the answer, try it, it's a very different kite, 3 struts , very light , drifts well etc etc . Just check out all the vids , mainly the ones riding one eye. I agree with you on older models , not this one . Again it's the old try before you buy, they are similar to the reo with grunt in the 10-12m which is what you need for the Sydney conditions that are crap for waves as you would know.

Did anyone tried he Fluid ATV or the GK trix?
They are quite cheap and seem to be very well made but how are they compared to Reo, Religion, Method, Park??? Cannot demo all of them...

If you like your Rev you will probably be right at home on the BWS Noise.
Does everything just as well as the Rev ever did. Biggest difference is it sits down the line better.
Bar pressure, feedback, response & turning speed etc etc all pretty much the same.
