Dbabicwa or any other edge owners. What psi do you pump your edges to? 7 psi as in owners manual is still very soft and bends when under load! Is this another V7 drama? Needs at least 9psi and this is still not hard.? Anyone?

Why does it matter what size it is?

Throw the gauge away, pump it till it's hard, give it the flick/ping test and get on with it....

Its all about the hoop stress

Different pressure is needed depending upon the thickness of the leading edge to get the same hoop pressure/stress. The LE diameter will reduce as a kite is scaled down, hence the correct pressure will vary from size to size (increasing as the size decreases to keep the same stiffness of the LE)

Ping test can give a good indication once you are dialled in but how do you explain that sound to someone who has never pumped a kite to the correct pressure before? I prefer the fold/squeeze test as it can be carried out when its howling and you can't hear the noise of the ping.

Ozone is probably the biggest brand at my locals. I haven't flown one that I didn't like for it's intended purpose. All the durability issues that I have witnessed have only been associated with the edge. Various year models all related to the design scope IMO. What makes it a great freeride Kite also makes it more fragile than its siblings.

I have seen countless Cats, Reos and the odd Zephyr cop a good flogging in the waves with no issues.

Like cars sometimes you get a lemon,my reo8 has been dropped in the waves without waves hitting it and a strut popped ending in the bladder protruding, had it repaired and did it again in a different spot.Didnt bother fixing it as I think its past its shelf life,my 10m cops more of a flogging and nothing will kill it
