Evening - looking at purchasing cheap second hand Ozone C4 - are these kites any good in the surf? Understand they are good freeride kites - will they drift at all on the wave or will they fall out of the sky? I haven't used one before - just looking for a bigger one to complement existing quiver and not looking at spending a bomb - thanks for the comments

Search some of Sir Rowdys vids, C kites work fine in the surf.

Get over it, just because it doesn't suit you.
Tumalowlow:
Try the kite, not the best compared to a dedicated wave kites but it will work.
2013 and up are Labeled as wakestyle/freestyle kite but they freeride fine

No ****ing idea. Tell it how it is Plummet, and don't base it on your poo stance dangle berries

2013 + = more suited to wake style/freestyle (unhooked)

2013 is more optimised for wake.... which makes it worse as as general freeride kite in the waves. Sits further back in the Window, bar pressure to high for my liking, huge steering lag hooked in with bar out.

Note: I'm still flying a 2012 10m c 4 in the waves.

My my we are a sensitive lot aren't we??

How about, 'maybe you should try the 2014 C4 first any c kite can be used in the surf'.

The guy did ask specifically about the C4 in the surf...and you have to agree its designed more heavily along the wakestyle spectrum now even with its good freeride ability.

Then again I know guys that love the fuel in the waves...and ya can't get much more C than that!!!

I've only ridden the 2011, 2012 and the 2013 and there is an obvious decrease in its true wave riding ability/ freeride , but that doesn't mean it won't work!! It's a good kite no matter how you look at it and it's the rider that counts and what they want to do.

Ya right look at sir rowdy...

Haven't ridden the 2014 so no comment on that.

...why is it that whenever someone gives their opinion on an ozone kite that is not in your favour, you guys attack with such venom? It is always so disproportional compared to other discussion on other kites. Or am I the only one who sees this??

Got me beat...

Its not ozone kites or any kite in particular eppo, its annoying getting on here and just seeing posts constantly from you and plummet on every.single.thread.... I highly doubt youhave ridden every pproduct and every style on the market yet you put your 2 bobs worth in at every chance.
Now go on you for sharing advice, but as others have said before sometimes people new to the sport could get the wrong info which may be dangerous or misleading

Nothing to do with ozone
it was a very vague comment with no info
Watch Felix pivec smash waves to bits on a combat
Or Kevin langree on a torch
My point is some explanation is in order after a comment like that
Look watch

Fair enough but I am almost certain that When We read a certain kite or board or even a brand bashed I don't see an armada of vicious and personal attacks almost like wolf pack that follows when an ozone kite is the topic of conversation. This is not the first time. And these come generally from well known ozone riders.

Surely there are better ways to balance opinions without being so callous so as to not to 'mislead' people to the sport.

Inform them without resorting to such brutal attacks. It just makes no sense to me?

Plummets ridden ozone kites for years...I agree he used strong words to describe his personal opinion...

But he's talking about a kite, you guys are getting personal...

Support the kites usage in the surf and for freeride not berate the individual. Show some comradery for your fellow kiter!

Pedleym good points...above about c kites in waves. Agreed.

mabey you remember a post about a certain non ozone kite that had a bad review with a very good explanation as to why it wasnt liked,
and that was attacked very harshly.

Demo everything, take what u hear on here with a pinch of salt. chances are what i like in a kite others hate. which is why context is needed.

Plummet I have no problems with u disliking a kite, also my comment may have been out of context to someone that has not followed the C4 plummet saga.

opinions are like arseholes EVERYONE has one

I know which kite you are referring to i think and you may also remember I supported the guy making the attack to the hilt, even though if it is the same one we are talking it's one of the kites I ride and highly rate for what its designed for...is that the one. But he wasnt attacked personally though.

Why, because you are right opinions are like asseholes, but that doesn't give the right in my mind to be an asshole.

That's what I have a problem with.

Good winds mate. Even though me suspects we are in for rest real soon. Bugger!!

Question is... How are you and plummet so blind to see why the seabreeze community get so fed up with your dribble?

Has nothing to do with ozone. I only raise an issue when I feel I'm knowledgeable about a topic and not just to up my post count. I've happily dissed ozone before with their delays on bars because I felt it was actually warranted.

Calling 2013+ C4 "crappola" is just not necessary especially when you have beginners looking at buying kites and having to read some of the stuff you and plummet have to say.

I/m just sick of both of your long winded posts that contain in reality 10% of some form of relatable knowledge on the topic.

As y[ou can see from above there are a few people on seabreeze that are just over your "input" on this forum.

I'm out.

I apologize for having and opinion and lack of experience on the subject. I have only been riding the c4 exclusively in waves since 2010. I have only owned 2009,2010,2011,2012, 2013 c4's.

When a guys asks how the c4 goes in the waves I thought might have enough experience to venture an opinion.

Apparently not.

From now on I say what the he'll I like regardless of what you whining girls say.

I will try one last time...

So a person asks about the wave riding/ freeride capabilities of the C4 (nothing about its prowess as a wakestyle/freestyle kite, of which we all know it's a great kite and the ultimate goal behind the design).

Plummett gives his opinion (and by the way he has laid out many times the reasons behind his opinion in past posts).

Now instead of giving examples, maybe from your own time in the waves on this kite maybe and the difference through its chronological development through the years, instead of refuting plumetts claims through a reasoned argument, you instead personally attack him, then justify this through your disdain for the apparent excessive number of posts he does (and me once I comment to highlight this abuse) and your apparent omniscient insight into what the seabreeze community thinks of this???

Instead of outlining a controlled argument for this kite in the surf/freeride, with regard for the human being behind the keyboard you seem to feel free to abuse.

Instead of focusing on helping the guy who made the post, you use is as a platform to grind an axe on another issue you seem to be unable to let go of. You may argue this approach may help him and maybe it might. I just think it leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth with your negative nancy tactics.

Emanjay is a good example, he gave his personal experience saying he vouches for its freeride capabilities. Great!

I hope you see some reason behind my comments.

Plummet - you bag the C4 in EVERY single thread you possibly can. Buy a Catalyst and stop having a winge. Ps there was no C4 in 2009.. well played.
