How does this kite compare to the new 2014 'BWS Fluctuator'?

Wrote a small review earlier have a look...it will be a really really good wave kite. Don't jump it though. More fly and follow, precise, drifts well. Much much better construction and above bar depower and plastic sheathing very ozone like...I liked it.

spoke to a few people about the north kites, although superbly made i find them very confusing, this quote imo is testerment to my view, they intermingle designs instead of having a kite thats purely dedicated , they need to clear out a few models instead of having half a dozen kites that can do it all

Think you 2 are talking about 2 different kites..... Eppo's talking bout the BWS while Warrens asking about the dice.

Jump the dice... its quite nice.

try an jump the ben wilson surf .... and your face will hit the turf.

Hang on a minute cauncy....so what do you call the catalyst? Gotta pull you up a bit big fella. A watered down C4 caught in no mans land, that's what I reckon! Kinda liked the evo, does nothing real well! Or does everything okay which I equate to the former. Depends on how you see it. North just have a few more catalyst types but across the aspect and profile spectrum....you are also talking about the biggest kite company in the world who seem to want to provide a certain kite to suite every Tom dick and Harry

Lets get one thing clear, the dice drifts as good as any wave kite I've been on. But yes it jumps to...not edge like ..but it jumps easy and lands easy and flies easy.

Nah spark he was asking about the BWS. There's a local on the older BWS on a laluz TT who jumps nicely on the BWS so not sure you are so correct there.

I'm talking about the brand new BWS as one of the creators/owners who the farq knows ? lives down here.

It is a totally different design and flies complete differently. Its a bloody nice wave kite man, fast and precise. But I wouldn't jump this thing. Not part of its profile at all. That's what I meant.

And please take note I was not a fan of the older BWS AT ALL ( sorry for all of you dedicated BWS riders), but I felt it did not suite our conditions that really need a fly and follow kite, we dont all live in a perfect forming barrel in cross off winds! Slow turning and I know a lot of guys who have had some serious miss functions of their gear.

Making the point because the new BWS kite is really very good, for what it does. Not my cup of tea but I still see and feel and good kite when I ride one, regardless of my previous observations.

Perceptions...more like it. As you can may have seen I have no one eyed focus on one brand. Give them their due worth and don't become a Born again, save the Farqin lord 'brand name' rider. Sooo many great kites out their...get out and ride them!!

All rounder? Dice? I suppose...as you have only been in it a year (where do you ride warren and on what board?)

With its main forte within the waves,

Sorry you said why jump? Straight after my BWS comment and I have made it perfectly clear the dice will jump just fine.

Where do you ride warren and on what board...where you from?

I presume you mean scarborough? Are you local? If so looking at your board choices and if I am correct on your place of kiting I suggest you go and see the boys at AKS and get on a zephyr. Bindings to eventually do freestyle I see and the xenon for freeride I presume depnding on what type...

8-12 knots, doesn't matter how light you are, I wouldn't be on anything less than 17m. Gotta keep the bloody kite in the air mate.

You need something that will give you some slack for pop and freestyle. Core is a good kite too. Try them both darren and todd has em.

The new XR3 looks a million bucks.

You need a 17m mate trust me for those winds you want. You wanna be powered or pissing about with 14m's trying to milk the **** out of them again. If you are in bindings you want as much power as possible!

I reckon avoid the 17m and go with a north nugget. The largest kite you'll need is a 13m.

Here I am using the nugget and 17 zeph in waves. !

Your right though for heavy wind.

It's just interesting how important it is to take into account the variables in these discussions.

Yeh you were always out pointing me on my light wind TT in Bali, although I reckon it has more to do with that awesome white helmet you wear. Must be really aerodynamic or something

sounds sick!!

i currently ride a slingshot octane 2010 11m and lookin into gettin a north. its either the rebel 2014 11m or the dice 2014 11m? by the sounds of the rebel is the way to go but its a 5 line kite that puts me off and your limited to it but not being able to unhook so il be stuck at one level and not be able to progress?? and then the dice! the dice sounds sick! its an unhookable 4 line kite, but hasnt been released yet so limited to all the reviews about it so duno if its that good yet? iv been kiting a year now and havnt riden a surf kite. what do u mean by it drifts??

what would u reccomend the rebl or the dice? love freeriding and jumpin and havnt started unhooking yet but want to give it a shot.

iv never riden a 5 line kite either? so i dont know if the 5th line will be an issue? i see it as just something extra u have to hook up when setting up and untangling your lines if thats the case.

the dice comes with an optional 5th line? would u go 4 or 5 lines?

Read my text my man...you missed a special arvo today bro. You know you are on a good thing when there are 8 surfers in the water as well!

Kept out of their way though we got plenty of ocean to find waves.

Although there was some aneamic looking strapless kook euro riding between them. I wish he had come in when I had, as we would have put him straight, the easy way first of course. People, don't ride in between surfers, they got nowhere to go and have to sit in one place for the lineup. We got the whole ocean so bloody use it!

Time for others to comment now, I have said my piece and nothing today would make me change anything I wrote in my review.

Has an experienced wave rider tried this kite yet? A review from a reo or a religion rider would be great.
