Probably would, looks like a single front safety. Guess it's a race bar...? Just make sure the safety line feeds freely, the lines are all the same length with the bar sheeted in, and it should be ok.

Flow001. Why would you????
Put the damn thing in a museum or better still, in the bin. Get yourself a reliable 2nd hand modern bar (Cabrinha if you like). A bar with an up to date safety system. Something / Anything that wont let you down when you actually need it to work.
Seriously the modern bars (second hand) are worth it. If you cant afford it then basically you can't really afford to kite and you certainly can't afford the medical bills when you screw up.

Wow, you don't sound too stubborn to quit at all....

You should change your name to fairy mary who like everything in its place and preferably pink

Take it to a kiteshop mate, that safety line setup looks dodgey to me.
Or make it yourself, but do it properly this time.

Is the recoil better than the cleat? Or just different system?

Mates there is so many informations everywhere it gets so confusing. I d like to buy this one.
2016 overdrive with recoil for my 2016 switchblade. Does it sounds better than my other "dodgey" one.
Had so many **** up in the past and bad experience buying stuff online.
Cheers guys

If it's not a mini-fifth line safety, then they've duplicated the double-front safety and added the cleat. Should be ok for a newbie doodling around, but I wouldn't be sending it in 30 knots with that bar.

Straps (Recoil) are better because you can see where the system is wearing and it's not going to mysteriously snap on you when the poorly designed and cast cleat eats its way through your main lines.

If you have had so many bad experiences in the past just save a few extra $$ and get a new superceded model. Last time i checked the used cab bars on seabreeze they were over priced and wouldnt be much extra cash for a new one (superceded).

I really think that a decent bar is well worth the money, lines are easier to run out (dont tangle as easy) and there are many areas of a used bar that you can't inspect the condition of. The classic on those cabrinha bars are the dyneema lines inside the PU tubing, no way to inspect and if it lets go while youre in the surf or upwind of rocks you might be up for a new kite or expensive repairs.

I've got both, personally I prefer the light weight simplicity of the trimlite but my 12yo prefers the recoil because it keeps the bar within arms reach for him.
Both good systems, I find cleat easier to adjust with kite on the beach but they're the same when kite is in the air and front lines are under tension.

I'm pretty sure this is a 2015 bar, not 2016

Left to right: 2015 recoil, 2016 trimlite, 2016 recoil, 2017 trimlite.

Your bar has a higher V than the one the 2016 kite was designed for ,should work with adjustments for that .
