That is freaken awesome. Its how i imagine i ride when i'm in nuking conditions!..... And very similar to the conditions i get here!..... But he is only having half the fun he could. He should strap a mutant on his feet and ride the waves back in.... I didnt see any wave riding!... Why not do both and double ya fun?

I say an well designed one will not be any worse than a TT. So If you have Mutant boosting and wave riding then dedicated strapless sb overall funlevel is higher!

unless its cross off then high aspect kite is all good, sometimes its better because you can track upwind closer to the pocket.

Edge is a weapon in the waves if you're know how riding a twintip

I have edge, reo, uno, chrono, enduro. Edge is second worst in that list for cross to onshore for dtl wave rides. It's just too heavy and not drifty enough.

Yes, I know how to use it. But cross off is another story. The edge is sweeeet dtl in waves when its cross off.

Most kites work in cross off. Edge rebel etc are not good kites in the waves, especially on a surfboard. But for some TT lock and load wave boosting sessions they are fun. But to claim they are good in the waves is not right if you want to get in the critical sections. That's why I run reos as well.

Edge is definitely hard work unstrapped sb but strapped and keep it moving its a lot of fun, I've also got a reo and wainman for unstrapped. As for rebels quite a few local guys use them very effectively in waves here.
