Who needs a mutant just get a Nomad Wave
Awesome both ways
For bigger steeper waves. You need to be further back and need more nose rocker. Nomad wave would be really good in smaller washing machine stuff but the chance of buring the nose on a double head monster with a centered foot stance and lower rocker would be too high. Also the closer your rear foot is to the rear fins the more you turn tight like a surfboard. Its not as good as an sb, but its certainly better than a symetrical TT.
There's definitely a place for the mutant. That is in between the surf orientated TT and a surfboard.
Also when you optimize the location of the bindings/ fins you can get a board that is better on waves but not worse going in reverse. Soo,,,, in my mind there is very little need for a surf orientanted TT when you can have a mutant that does everything the TT does but can handle bigger surf days.
My just stolen mutant could handle any surf the guys on SB's could handle (much to their amasement). There was not one day that SB guys rode that i couldn't. The Surf TT not so much. There's definitely days you don't want to be TT-ing. Also there came a level of massive washing machine slop that the SB riders didnt enjoy but i have a blast on my mutant. Its to big for TT and too rough and unpredictable to SB. My mutant owned those conditions.
