In my case, not very good!
I didn't have a very good time with my Rebels in the waves. Dropped them a lot, and when I did they would get tangled and be hard or impossible to relaunch. 5 lines suck in the waves if you drop them. Strong though. They also don't drift very well if that is your thing. Neo is dramatically better in waves for me.

Oh you want a serious comparison. Rebels are sh1thouse in the waves lol.

The Rebel is not, and never has been a wave kite. Although having said that, depending upon the situation they can be OK. Problem is they generate too much power through speed, they have tapered wingtips which doesn't support them well when low in the wind window. They will tend to stall low in the wind window when going down the line with low apparent wind over the foil and high angle of attack. The 5 struts also add to the weight of the kite which compounds the abovementioned problems. All of this can be managed by a skilled kiter but why would you do that to yourself when the Neo or MOno are soooo easy and perfect for waves.

The Neo and the Mono are far better for surf kites. They are lighter, more responsive, more stable and less prone to stall and drop whilst low in the window.

Rebel is for boosting, freeriding, hangtime, upwind and monster wind range. Now being 4-line, there is less fear of tangles or hassles.

As usual, demo demo, demo

Of course the rebel is awesome in the waves if you want to jump off wave lips!
