It doesn't really bother me enough to want something to make it easier. Perhaps when I'm older with back problems.

For now I just have a proper bend in my knees when pumping, and it gives me a good warmup

Same pump, same stroke. Albeit a little higher. A bigger chamber for less strokes maybe a better idea! At least it won't fall out of my kite bag straps if it has more length!

Another improvement if you have a bad back is this Bravo 4ALU pump that switches automatically from double action to downward action only when the pressure reaches 5.8 psi.

The more I think about it, the more I want one

Often wondered why pumps can't be a bit bigger
Higher handle and more capacity
All they would need is a longer main chamber and central tube. Surely the extra cost would be almost nothing

Not really a new idea or the best I've seen. The velcro straps will permit movement/rocking of the handle back and forth. The best I've seen was a pic posted by the inimitable Waveslave. His quote "I adapt stuff" His mod, was attached to the base of the pump, looked like a far more a solid connection than a couple of flimsy straps.

I plan to modify my own pump for next season, a la Waveslave. Hope he didn't patent his idea . If I remember correctly , (it was a few years ago) he copped a negative response from a mouthy juvenile, who will, one day want a pump that doesn't make his back sore .

You can't pay a man a greater compliment , than to copy him

Post that pic again 'slave, you old bugger . cheers, J

Apparently not.
The Bravo Jumbo Raft pump is 28" tall 5" diameter. Big kite pumps are 19" tall 4" diameter.
The Jumbo only pumps on the downstroke and costs $175

My liquid force pump came with a handle extension. I'm sure it would be ok if you have a bad back but it makes it harder to pump because you cant use your body weight to push down as easily.

Damn Joyrider...are you serious, does that ozito option work? Already asked but thought I'd ask again. Seems a simple solution if it does!

Unless U R a light weight kid - easier to get more pressure on the up stroke than the down (he weights a bit more now)

on manual pumps the best one is new - they always get harder to use regardless after a few beach visits....

I want one... if it has a pressure cut-out setting
www.ozito.com.au/apr-012
reference the product spec's - max psi = 160 (!!) also refers to car 12v socket so close to car then plenty of xtra capacity...

Still remember the stunned mullet of surprise on youngster when the car tyre pump took out a mini-basket ball he was pumping while watching something else - huge gutsy bang -
Will read the manual... and report back..

Cheers

AP

Report back - no pre-set pressure setting. 14 litres/minute - so = slow - each stroke of your average hand pump = 2 litres so if you do 50+ strokes... It comes with 2 nozzles 1) a ball needle 2) a car valve = so need a custom fitting. Not sure how good a filter it has for sand beach conditions.....

so no buy 4 me...
cheers

This is pure genius. Doesn't get any easier. Designed for pumping up car tyres upto 50psi. So a kite at 8psi the Ozito just starts to get warmed up. Ozito gear normally comes with 2 year warranty. $60 is extremely good value. New ozone pump got to be about $50 & this extension handle at $30. I've already repaired my Ozone pump twice in 6 months. That white circular plastic cap under base of pump is a very poor design & fixed by finite amount of crap adhesive to surface that is only 5mm wide. Will make a trip to Bunnings.

as mentioned, ive used them to blow up inflatable SUP's and it did about 10 in one charge.

All we had to do was about 3 pumps (with a manual pump) to get the desired PSI, but a SUP holds a lot more pressure id imagine.

the guys racing at sail melbourne used them for big kites and they worked a treat.

at least if it doesn't blow up your kite it will blow up your inflatable Girlfriend.
it says on the ozito site "to be used with inflatable toys".

I went to "Buginngs" quite some time ago to check and it is rated at 50 L/min, more or less. It also says do not run for more than 2-3 mins.

My wild guess would be 10-15 mins run to pump a kite.

I like to keep my girlfriend pumped up... Doesnt matter if she loses air over time as it makes it easier to grab her love handles

wouldnt you want a Hi flow pump not a high pressure pump? think this may be really slow but could easily pop your kite after 2 hours if the battery didnt go flat

Guys!!!

MY REVIEW ON THE OZITO 12v AIR PUMP;

Got one from Bunnings ,gave it a good charge, rigged up a good adaptor for my 8m Ozone Catalyst then returned it back to Bunnings within the hour. After 10 minutes of 12v pumping (more like using a Kango, noise was deafening) there wasn't even enough air in the kite to keep a mouse afloat. It would take an eternity to blow up my Zephyr. Biggest load of pointless ****te since they invented the sedgway & 'hair in a can' (not in any order). I could only ever recommend it to someone with chronic emphysema & only if they needed to inflate a ping pong ball. Someone mentioned they need to keep their girlfriend pumped up? I recommend you use a stick of dynamite. You pull out & plug in the Ozito she's going to divorce you.

Bugger my Super Bravo electric pump may have just **** it self after 5 years, you pay for what you get.
About 750 pump ups, worked out about $1.50 per pump so looking for a new one.
This does not include my blow up doll.
