I had a 2014 7m rebel. It was indeed a great gust absorbing boost monster. But it turned and drifted like **** and was terrible on the hydrofoil. Ended up selling it and going back to the old trustee 8m cat. Cat didn't absorb gusts as well or boost as high. But it turned better, rode waves better was a ton better on the hydrofoil.

5strut is better for gusts than 3, 3 is better than 1. But if you can fly kites you can make anyone work.

Pick the kite to suot your style first and foremost then look at numbers of struts etc.

A lot of crew tend to set up their kites on a long backline setting and fully trimmed in
when kiting in strong and gusty settings
I have found this is when a kite behaves at its worst, the older catalyst was a shocker
flapping around and very intermittent in its power delivery, setting it up to ride more powered with a shorter backline and trimmed out it was a cracker of a storm strong wind kite, my old 7 Vegas seemed limitless but a shocker when winds dropped off

Yep good point, middle knot on the edge rear lines seems just right
