I'm nowhere close to retiring, but it's good to have a plan right?!

So if money/family commitments etc was a non-issue. Where in the world would you retire to and kite most days?
I'm thinking, wind all year round, warm, etc...

retirement is antiquated, live how you want now, you'll be well over kiting by that point anyway,

There's no getting out of this life alive
Fit in what you can, whilst you can
Retiring from kiting is a retirement I'm not looking forward to
Wa has cracking summer and winter winds
If you do your homework

This is my plan... Bus, Jimny/Sierra on the back for 4wd trails & local running around, foil board for my old knees & kites & lots of other toys of course. And the wife I guess.

I'm retiring next year. Kiting destinations are part of the plan.
"Where in the world" you ask? Probably here in OZ. We have the best beaches, an uncrowded coastline, away from the worlds trouble spots and you can follow the wind around the continent. No one place has everything you need, all the time. If you have a comfortable vehicle for travelling and can stay off the grid for extended periods then your choices are limitless.

that is a nice plan...
But with a 2 stroke GM drinking at the rate of more than 1 litre / KM it is easy to see why there's so many bus conversions for sale.

Interesting ideas from all.
I was more thinking of one spot, rather than traveling around the continent to follow the wind.
An Island may be ideal, because it's always onshore somewhere. But it needs to be windy all year and warm ideally.

Any more ideas?

Hawaii?
I think most of the pacific tropical islands have windy and wet seasons not alround epic wind. There is a guy that rants on about a island near taiwan? penghu island? thats constantly windy.

Me. I'm already in kiting paradise. Every time i go to a different location its not as good as here. But you need a wetsuit. Its not warm in winter. Freaken awesomely windy all year round though.

For me its a 7 hour drive. Then 40km down a deserted beach to the sand dunes. Then hidden 2 km inland at the back of the sand dunes. Also watch out for the quick sand!...

Plummet - were those pics of up where the Moose meet happens?

I am surprised nobody has put in a vote for the Dominican Republic. Cheap living, good wind, they basically throw rum at you, and its swarming with foxy ladies

ouch.
New Rule #1: get real world fuel figures before buying anything.

It's probably 20 years off anyway, I'm sure the market will be different by then..
