A big reason why kiting has declined is because of boomer kooks like me, that has never bought a NEW kite since 2012!
Yet I've had my hands on all the brands and practically all the models, since 2014. All because many wanted to chase the latest and greatest, and I just sitting back like a dumb-turtle, just buy what you suddenly decided back then was "too old".

My point being, kooks like me never really invested into a local shop (sorry Marvin, sorry Matt and John in StKilda), chasing this fantasy you all think the
next kite was king.
I knew back then, as I still know now, all the hype around kite A vs kite B was pure commercial capitalism, and me being a staunch Lefty, decided.... haha... I'll wait and buy them 2nd, 3rd, 4th hand and still get the benefits.
And it worked!Yeah so I don't do unhooked kamikaze 720 degree spins or break any Woo BS elitism heights. Meh.
I just kite and I still enjoy it.
I predict the sport will come back to its roots one day, simply due to cost. #prays
