Thanks Plummet. Definitely. It is a work of art to get them exactly the same. Considering I shaped it with only a grinder it's not bad at all!

Now just for the tricky part. Attaching the mast....

The Indestructo foil is the first picture on page 1. I made it because the other guy testing my foils has a special skill for breaking them, even after they have lasted me 2-3 sessions, he has managed to break them without evn hitting the bottom, or getting on them, after a single using a power stroke and doing who knows what with the board shape.direction. Probably trying to ride it sideways.....

Well.... If you want performance, the trailing can't be a "fat" edge, so it's got to be somewhat sharp, leading edge not so much as it's bluntish. I saw a research paper on it, and the sharp edge performed better, the gains were not worth creating a sharp front edged foil however

I can testify to the fact the trailing edges on my KFA Mako wings and mast are razor sharp. Like could cut a tomato thinly no problems.

Hey Guys - if you are in Sydney and could come on down to the NKL Series II at Dolls Point next year 20-21 Jan - we would love to see all ya foils and give us all an exhibition foil display at 11am before our comp starts. We are introducing a Foil Race in 2018 and have our 1st event in 2017 at RBYC Melbourne for 1st timer foil racers. Love all of this thread - very innovative and exciting. Lets see whose homemade foil goes the best - Not Official NKL so no fees etc - but just an exhibition by addicts for fun. All of your foils are a bit more professional looking than mine. Mine looks like the sub $10 foil that it is . Well if it works I will be super stoked. To be foiling for less than $10 is an achievement. It doesn't even need to be fast or high performance. If it is rideable and can go upwind I will consider it mission accomplished.

Final layers of carbon going on tonight. Going to be fun unwrapping my new foil tomorrow !

Finished, clear coat drying..... I hate clear coats, but needed to trial one just to be sure they are crap.

So finished today, total cost around $250. Take it out next weekend!

Wind resistance means nothing if you have a 3KW motor on the back wheel :)

I have been developing a foil for the last year that is almost ready to bring to market. Its almost home made with all prototyping done in my factory.

Can you share some pics of the wing?

Some parts have 2 layer carbon, some parts have 5, it's all about stiffness, but carbon is only as useful as the compressability of the stuff in the middle, and the tightness of how u wrap it. My indestructo foil was 2/3 layers and I can now say much easier to ride than a certain unnamed production foil that I tested. .... and regarding laminating, wood as a mandrel, .... is much softer than plastic unfortunately.
