Hey follow wind lovers

Been using a dakine tabu waist harness for last 2 seasons and been getting a few back strains whilst riding recently so thinking of getting a new waist harness and alternating the 2 each session.

Anyone got any recommendations? Heard, and read on here, that the Flying Objects Flight control harness seems to be a good and very comfy buy?

I have a Mystic, Very comfy but I have nothing to compare it to as I had a seat harness before this one.

if you started having back strains only recently, maybe you should have your back checked...
i on the other hand am prone to back pains, and if using waist harness i can get them after hard sessions... when i used to use sit-in harness, i never had any back pain.

I can really highly rate the Ion Apex.
Exceptionally comfortable and spreads the load across a large amount of your back with no pressure points. Also the spreader bar is a bit wider than others so it doesn't pinch in at the sides as much when you do it up really tight.
You can save a little bit of dosh with the Ion Hummer, but the comfort level of the Apex is well worth the extra $30-40!

Personally, i'm still using a Mystic Warrior 1... but after trying my mates Ion Apex i know what i'll be replacing it with when it wears out.

Also worth mentioning that it's going to be a trade off between how stiff the harness is and how well it spreads the load. A stiffer well moulded harness will more evenly load up your back, whilst a softer harness might be more comfortable to stand around in, might not spread the load over as large an area.

Depending on your style of riding, you may try a seat harness at least until your back recovers 100%....and possibly have some treatment in case something got out of aligmnent...

Agree with Koma. Ion Apex should sort your back out. Very comfortable.

There was issue with straps (see other threads on this) but i have never had this problem.

Also ask someone with experience to watch you kite. Might be your technique or the fact the harness rides up.
