You've answered your own question. The heat. So by changing the times many farmers and tradies would be working till sunset. Come home 9.30 10ish to a house that's going to be hot for 2 hours more.

I suggest you change your working hours. If you have a family it is now negotiable. Say you need to start earlier so you can pick up the kids. I work around my kids and its great.

Thanks for your taxes supporting my cause Bro. Really I'm not much different to all the other athletes that the goverment gives grants to so that they can go to the Olyimpics once every 4 years. The government also pays for them to travel around the world year round to compete in world cup events and stuff. So really I'm but a drop in the ocean compared to them.

Just living my own dream the same as all the hero athletes out there. Just my grant from the government is much less.

I really dig summer here. Go to bed early(**** all on TV) wake up at 445. It's warm. Hit the beach with mate to surf, run swim paddle Etc.. Geta coffee after, start work 830. It's like a whole day of fun before even starting work. It's then dark early which is good for putting kids to bed on time.

^^^ I've only been to Qld a couple of times and noticed exactly that. The time for sport and casual socialising (coffee with friends) is am. I thought it was great watching the groms out surfing before 6am, then seeing the swarm of kids with their boards walking back home about 8am for brekky and to get ready for school.

There is a definite lifestyle difference there...especially when us Viccos want to have a few drinks with our Qld bros late into the night and they are done by 8pm.

In Qld it's so freaking' hot in the afternoon I'd rather work a bit later in air conditioned comfort then hit the beach for a couple of hours as the sun is going down.

In summer there's heaps of daylight left in the afternoon to do stuff. But in winter it's dark so early that the sun is down as your driving home.
I'd rather get up an hour earlier in winter, it's dark anyway, then get an extra hour of daylight in the afternoon.

Or, move the eastern standard time forward 1 hour for all states and just keep it all year round. None of this backwards and forwards sh!t. (Confuses the cows)
