4 GRAMS??? Is it a lot??? Intended to sell the whole 4 grams, bloody hell he would have been able to retire on the massive profit! Do not get me wrong, he must be plain stupid to carry even 1/2 gram on him after with his reputation, but is that a waist of police resource (2 cops to catch mr (BIG) Ben) what a lot of (press) bulshyt?

Imagine you're transported to a place where it's always windy, and sunny, and there's a perfect peeling reef, and you're able to sail/kite/surf at a pro level. You go there a few times a week.

Now everyone is saying should never go there again. That's addiction.

...actually it's much better/worse than that.

An activity is addictive if one's relationship to it lies on that downward-sloping continuum between liking it a little too much and downright needing it. Many addictions, from exercise to letter-writing, are pretty benign. But something is malignantly addictive if (1) it causes real problems for the addict, and (2) it offers itself as relief from the very problems it causes. A malignant addiction is also distinguished for spreading the problems of the addiction out and in in interference patterns, creating difficulties for relationships, communities, and the addict's very sense of self and soul. - Wallace

the more people keep feeding this into the media the more poor little ben will keep tripping up . Without football ben was never destined to do anything with his life . He wasn't the sharpest , heck to say ben was learning challenged in school would have been a compliment . I know as i was a few years above him at school .

Not surprised when he got caught the first time and not surprised he isn;t intelligent enough to get someone else to do his drug dealing for him and stay hidden in the shadows .

As much as I want to be a nay-sayer or whatever you call it of people who criticize him, this mornings radio has changed my mind. What are we to judge. We've never had an addiction we needed to get over. Sure the blokes stupid and what he did is wrong but when you put yourself into a drug addicts shoes, thats probably when you can judge. It's like people who've never had a loved one pass away and constantly trying to cheer you up wondering why you are so down. They won't understand until it happens to them.

All we can do is support the bloke and not criticize him. Leave the news and media and leave him be.

I hear what you are saying and to an extent agree with you. However, personal responsibility and personal choice cannot be thrown out the window despite the addiction. he has had more opportunities afforded him than someone on the streets wold ever have.

So how do they think drugs commit crime?
Have people questioned their intelligence?

Is that like how my strew driver scratched my door panel?

I personally think education or lack there of is behind most crime, the rest is emotional response, or inability to reason an emotion.

What did he do ...well geez, broke the law?
Typical stoner - "oh he didnt hurt anyone" lets legalise it

Maybe you'd also be all for people who commit insurance fraud? I mean it doesn't hurt anyone, everyone in Australia only paid $1 extra on insurance last year. That's not much.

Hey what about flashing ya dingdong at the girls in the park. I mean if they are not upset then it should be legal right? Didn't really hurt anyone....

Ask Ben's family if they were hurt.

if youve seen what the stuff does to people, physically, mentally and socially, and you still deny the influence it has on crime and the life of those around them, and still want to legalise it, you are an idiot. go to rehab.
