I'm just seeing it from a live music perspective, I loved the theatre of live music. I wasn't one to buy a record and lock myself in the bedroom then stroke the bumfluff on my chin and replay the lead guitar break.

Maybe that's why I preferred acts like the Ramones, Kraftwerk, Prodigy, Metalica, Marilyn Manson, LCD Soundsystem, Ministry, Basement Jaxx, Rammstein, Primal Scream and even Kanye West. They put on great shows.

I was lucky enough to see thousands of shows - Soundgarden never stood out for me - other than how funny it looked in 2012 when they were playing their tired white middle-aged, middle-class rock in empty stadiums - that's really my only lasting memory of them.

I think it's terribly sad that Chris Cornell topped himself, he obviously was a big influence in the early 90's. I'm guessing a lot of Soundgarden fans just got old and just didn't bother turning up to their shows in the last few years. Opting to punch out 'Legend' on their keyboard when he died and personally attack people who have a slightly different perspective.

Diversity and different opinions are a great thing.

Sound garden have 2 million fans on Facebook so they obviously aren't that bad.
personaly I prefered Audioslave more.

Cheers Southace, never really got into Audioslave at the time but will have to go have another look as that's pretty good. Interesting how in another part of your life you hear/see different things.

Again Oliver, no one here is interested in you beating your chest about how many shows you've been to.
I don't think you're being diverse, I think you're being antagonistic. Having a different opinion can be a good thing but when it's all about attention seeking such as in your case it's not that great.
Get over yourself.

Don't speak ill of the dead... But I don't get all the praise for his vocals. Overrated. I didn't get the praise for Scott Weiland either ("he does Sweet Child of Mine better than Axl!" - yeah right) and look what happened to him too.

Thanks to all you depressing farts for all your sympathy.

And this is to Oliver....

You are a c'nt. It wasn't Soundgarden's fault that no one ever turned up to our concerts. All we ever did was form a band. They (the promoters) approached us FFS. They were hungry for talent - we just provided a mediocre service for a high price. No one ever twisted their arms to go broke putting on festivals that no one went too.

BTW - I'm no f'cken legend. I'm just a successful drug addict who made good for a while and then inevitably got depressed and topped myself.

Nothing legendary about that.
