I presume something weird happens at the boundaries - analogy:
Absolute zero is counter intuitive. Like dropping a ball that never stops bouncing, the amplitude just gets smaller and smaller but never reaches zero - that's how I'd foresee atomic vibration as temp drops. But it doesn't, it actually has a zero point. (The fact we can't get there is irrelevant). We have got so so so damn close that it seems to be a foregone conclusion.
In the same way, to me increasing mass toward light speed fits the math at lower speeds but when very very close I reckon something weird will happen. Otherwise, how are the aliens getting here?
