No, you're wrong, not the BoM. Their outlooks for last year can still be seen on the web, and they did NOT claim there would be no rain until April or May.

The 10 October outlook said "The drier outlook for southern and northeastern Australia continues into December with the remainder of the country having roughly equal chances of being wetter or drier than average."

17 October they said "the outlooks for drier than average conditions ease in the coming months" and gave NSW a 50% chance of having higher than average rain.

24 October they said "only parts of Queensland, SA and other small scattered areas likely to be drier". They said similar things in November. Through much of that time, their predictive maps showed about 50/50 chance of more than normal rain in SE Australia quite a bit through October and November, and more rain in other areas.

So don't pretend that the BoM got it wrong - they did not.

Thank goodness for the rain, the solar panels have worked and we have successfully stopped climate change, brought the rain and stopped the oceans from rising any further, just like a fairytale ending in a movie

I'm a bit worried with this rain and cloudy weather. I've fenced in an area on my farm with a solar powered electric fence. If it stays cloudy for too long I think the battery in the energiser will run flat.

It looks like weather patterns are changing. If so we can hopefully look forward to fairly regular rainfall that will reinvigorate the land and refill the waterways. This rain is exactly what is needed. It's a pity this rain did not happen three months ago.

Its great to see plants growing instead of dying. Creeks and rivers are flowing. Dams are filling. The rain is heavy and quite widespread. If the keeps falling regularly for a few months the country will be renewed.

Lantana 600 was the best but they don't make it any more.

Grazon works well and doesn't kill the grass. 350ml pot does 100 litres. Use some surfactant with it and have 48 hours without rain after applying for best results.

In Perth they cultivate lantana in suburban gardens! I've seen ground asparagus in hanging baskets! Mother of millions clipped into nice neat low hedges! I'm tempted to attack the Madeira vine being cultivated on the tennis court fence.
