Don't understand the animosity towards the iPad?
The guy behind me has, I kid you not, an iPod plugged into his macBook, which is remoting into the PC on his desk. Next to that he has an iPad that is connected one way or another to the other lot. There are wires running everywhere. He flies back-forth each week with all of this stuff.
I think it's the people, not the product.
For me it let's me work all day from the beach quoting, invoicing, spreadsheets , word docs ect.
Nooooooooo.... these two things should never meet!
I bought a laptop years ago with the same thing in mind but due to battery life this never worked out. Anything that keeps me away from a desk is worth the money, anyone who's self employed will know exactly where I'm coming from-and approximately half the cost of a new laptop.
approximately double the cost of a Asus netbook, that has same battery life, better specs, same size ...and runs Office in its native environment. The one thing I hate on my Mac, yes I have one, is Office.
But, each to their own Mr. Berry.

Al that plus Apple is turning into a bigger monster than Microsoft. They aren't the underdogs anymore.
