God help your friends/drinking buddies if any of them actually have mental health issues. From your attitude it sounds like you would go tell them to kill themselves and then tell everyone else "I asked them if they were okay". Jokes aside, its not a joking matter. If someone really seems to be suffering depression and at risk of killing themselves please don't use it as a joke. Dragging out a 'are you okay' as a way to insult someone is not what the movement is intended for.

Easter, some bloke died a cold arse death so you can sound out like a bunch of twats on a forum mainly for people that like salt water activities

Monday was a great day: Top speed of 7.3 knots going to windward in about 11 knots of wind, flat water, with Mrs Crusty and daughter no. 1 alongside trying to outdo the top speed.

A couple of weeks ago, not such a great day. 100km tbar with a 4wd on a black spot intersection.
7 month old Car written off, but 4 adults survived with 7 busted ribs. Imprint of the bullbar and the numberplate as attached.
Ambos, SES, and docs said we were lucky . Photos dont show how bent up it is.
Actually a good day too I suppose

I haven't been back to the intersection in the weeks since, but it turns out the blackspot is only at 6 deaths, and it needs 8 to be officially listed. We were told this by the ambos, and also a firie, who both were familiar with the road.

There has been one more stack that we know of since, where an elderly lady was trapped in the car.
She was tboned in the rear doors, rather than dead side on.
The other driver stopped. saw that the lady was in panic mode but alive, and the driver then drove off.

RACV have a blackspot program, and its being listed now with them for funding.

As an aside, i'm ok apart from a dodgy shoulder, but Mrs Crusty isnt' as much.

I had a kid on a bicycle fly out onto the road without looking from behind parked cars and collide with me when driving. I was only doing about 10 kmh at the time, so it was more like him hitting me than me hitting him. Nevertheless, the sight of seeing someone on a bicycle fly over the bonnet had a much larger psychological effect than I would ever have imagined. I reckon it was about a year before I could drive without having it constantly in my mind.

Yeh it does. Wasn't in one, but watched an old lady 10m in front of me (I was standing on other side of road in a park) come down a hill, lose control, drive off the road, hit a natural ramp and fly whilst spinning upside in the air and hit a tree half way up. Amazingly the old bird was alive had to sit in the car (upside down) with her for 20 minutes until the ambo came. Blood and crap everywhere.
gott ah and it to the ambos and firefighters - they see some horrid stuff everyday. That stayed with me for a while.

1. Woke up and got up.
2. Looked in the mirror and it was me not somebody else.
3. Went outside and it was sunny Queensland.
Doesn't get much better than that.
