Why are you so against eating bugs?
I'm going to have a rant, just because I want to...
I am sick of hearing Vegans say 'meat uses this much water to make per kilogram, and vegetables use much less per kg', with the implication that eating meat is wasteful.
I have been driving a lot through rural WA over the last year or two, and during summer, there is almost no water out there unless there are aquifers. The only thing that seems to survive is grass... which is what the sheep or cows eat, plus with a bit of additional food.
When it does rain, especially in autumn and spring, it rains a very small amount over a large area. Enough to trigger the grass to grow again, but certainly not anywhere near enough to grow tomatoes or much else. But it is enough to create food for the sheep and cows.
So if anything, we are doing the world a favour by eating the cows instead of vegetables.
Help the vegans out. Keep eating cow or sheep so that there is enough water left for their tomatoes and lettuce. They need to eat too and we should share the burden.
They can even have my share of the crickets and grasshoppers.
What are everyone's stances on eating flies. Sure, most of us have eaten them by accident, but should we actively go out trying to snap them out of the air, to take some of the load from those that only want to eat plants?
