Yes we all know that well.
Australia is unable to build a car, piece of complex machinery or even wind turbine
Need to send raw materials overseas to be process.
But there maybe is something we could do one day utilizing our vast copper resources?

Can we build here in Australia high quality underse or underground electric cable on massive scale, to supply the rest of the world?
Can we import from Japan, Korea or Germany machinery to wind up those precise cables?
Whole world is going electric very soon and business potential is unlimited. Can government still could find few spare billions dollars to promote industry and help to get off the ground?

Our direct competitor is Chile, Peru ( not the technological superpowers one may think) so we should be able to beat them.
One may also consider that laying electric cables in Australia could be smart move , taking into account bushfires : both ignated by electric cables or consumed by. Once laying deep underground we should be safe.
Since scale required is nation wide effort - we could not expect a single private company suddenly pop up with plans to draw electric cables to supply the rest of the world. Like Jesus born once in the millenia, Elon Musk is not here and we could not relay on our billionaires to do suddenly something smart for the country. It should be government and nation utmost priority to utlize national copper resources and convert into high value product.
