anybody out there have a small husky with the hand tightener that only tightens on one bolt not 2? I recently bought a new 16" bar model to replace my old 14"husky which was so worn that it kept rattling loose. the new machine has had 1 sharpen and 2 tanks of fuel but the chain comes off 3 or 4 times per tank of fuel, needing the drive teeth filing each time. I was having to hammer the tightener to tighten enough.
when I took it back to the shop, they sent me to the service agent who grumpily informed me that the system has never worked and it needs a different side plate and studs and nuts, $75 parts plus labour, and don't bother asking for warranty. When I then went back to the shop they simply said I need a letter from the authorised service agent to proceed with a refund. i just **s me that iVe dropped into a loop after buying a saw based on how awesome my 15 year old machine was
Yes, the 435, don't know what they were thinking. Used to throw the chain a lot on twiggy stuff, smashing lantana etc, but never threw a chain doing what it was designed for. Tighten it up while pushing down on something with the nose of the bar. Tighten enough to see a good bit of flex in that flippy out plastic handle.
