I've been out working outside for 20 years and it's the last couple of years it's getting impossible to work through the middle months of the summer .
Its heat wave or torrential rains & this is in Sydney.
So I'm already feeling the effects it's now reducing by a month or two my working year .
Should I budget for three next year it's really noticeable.
And it's not just me it's right across the board nobody can work outside building

Most of Australia is uninhabitable & with climate change more will become so at an ever increasing rate & that is happening right now & the drought & bushfires are proof .
Ok a couple of things one carbon emissions when they started out were actually a great thing & reversed an ice age we were heading into but it's gone far & must be reversed now .
We humans only really live on a tiny part of the planet that's sustainable for our life & we really have to manage our global climate by regulating our atmosphere to keep ticking along we don't want warming making more of the planet uninhabitable especially with an increasing population we really need to have a climate that increases habitable land and we don't want to be going to far the other way & reduce carbon so far we go into an ice age .
It doesn't really matter if you believe in climate change or not it the climate has to be managed or we become extinct .
We have already been through the exact same stuff with smoking big tobacco lied & the anti smoking movement lied & that just dragged **** out longer because both sides spent so much time arguing over the lies .
Its finally proven & society changed
Its been a few years & smoking has become the equivalent of having corona virus in most people's eyes .
If you told someone that society attitude would change so much so fast in the eighties they wouldn't believe you .

The last Australian one that sounds like that was the Australian expedition aboard Akademik Shokalsky. If that's the one you're referring to, you're talking BS. They did NOT get stuck in ice they were saying should not exist. The Shokalsky was stuck in sea ice on an expedition "to explore changes in ocean circulation caused by the growth of extensive fast ice".

"Fast ice" is different to "sea ice" - one is stuck fast to the shore (hence the term "fast ice) and one is on the sea (guess which one...). "Growth" is different to "should not exist". There was a lot of denialist BS about the Shokalsky expedition being stuck in ice that they said should not exist. Some denialist dickhead here, for example, said that the Shokalsky was over 100km away from Antarctica when they got stuck and in the typical dishonest denialist style, was too gutless to admit they were wrong.

Oh god, the hypocrisy. The guy in the vid, Berkhout, is NOT a climate scientist. He was, however, a founder of the Delphi Consortium which is engaged in fossil fuel exploration technology.

It's weird that denialists can claim that climate scientists are biased because of funding they don't personally benefit from, and yet pretend that someone like Berkhout, who was a founder of an outfit that works for oil companies, is not biased.
