Just had the Security guy in Woolworths show me the newspaper saying closing doing everything for 14 days he said that's why he is in store keeping it calm they posted him specially for the panic buying
Supermarkets won't close down, but people will have to queue outside 3m apart.
Glad I started stocking up weeks ago

Pop down to Bunnings and buy a bumgun.
If this is fake... which I suspect... why add to the panic??
Why would you think it's fake ?
He showed me the front page of the newspaper

So far, the government has been so slow to act it is rather ridiculous... many of the new cases are coming from overseas... flights are still operating, which for the most part, are non-essential... food on the other hand, the stuff from supermarkets, is essential... so, i'll stick with my healthy degree of scepticism to this claim.
I can't imagine the government would let unprepared families starve to death. Seems ludicrous, avoiding the spreading is ok, shutting down food supplies would be criminal
I noticed a lot of perishable were clearance, half price or on special..weird considering the supermarket is 1/4 empty
Omg people calm the fark down!
Got friends in Italy and even in a total lockdown they are rostered to go shopping every 3 days. That's it.

Maybe they need to do a little more than that. Can anyone spot the difference in the two graphs below?

A roster is exactly what I thought might happen in the worst case scenario...

Funny you should mention that.
I was just looking them up on the Internet.
Kimberly-Clark might be regretting this!

Yes South Korea went into control measures earlier. There's an optimum time to hit control measures if you make the assumption that most people are going to catch it before a vaccine is developed. As Boris says "you've got the flatten the sombrero". But ideally you flatten only as much as needed to just squeak within the capability of your health service. Start the shutdown too soon and you lose too much productivity for the same end result.

Meh. The unprepared only have themselves to blame.
Yes it looks like the CMO is doing the sums . (or at least listening to the epidemiologists who are doing them)

"There is no question we have a range of social-distancing measures that we will not hesitate to recommend to government but they've got to be proportional and they might last for a long time. So you don't want to move too early," he said.

Post reported, very bad grammar.
Estimates for a vaccine are 12 to 18 months. There's a lot of water to go under the bridge between now and then.

You couldn't be further from the truth. The unprepared have the hoarders to blame. There is no shortage of anything in oz and there won't be - given enough time. Hoarding is the sole cause if we end up with imbalances in food supply. Nothing else.

Just think of the huge profits Coles,Wollies and that German Coy. is making right now.
Misses reckons they have also marked up those goods being rushed. Hmmm

Uni of qld lab have already found the cure according to the Australian. The only hold up is how to fast track trials and mass produce. But corners can be cut bringing a vaccine much earlier than th8s time frame

I've actually been surprised at the items Coles has discounted. Name brand paper towels were 50% off today in my local store, along with large discounts on other rare rush items.
Given the possibility of some type of shopping restrictions, it's made sense to follow the government's advice to grab a few extra non-perishable items each time you shop. Seems a fair enough idea, it means that stores could ramp up stocking a little to meet the extra demand, while everyone can still get what they need for normal living. Given it's been a few weeks now, anyone that has done so should have been able to build up a buffer to allow for any disruptions. If you haven't, who else can you blame? You'd have to be extremely poor not to be able to at least afford a couple of tins of unbranded baked beans or creamed corn. In fact, by having done so, you'll relieve the congestion if they do start restricting store entry as some have suggested.

Dream on mate.
Those of us that didn't have our heads buried in the sand, saw this coming weeks ago.
We didn't clear the shelves either.
But you go ahead and tell yourself what you need to.

The ostriches will blame anyone but themselves, Harrow.
