Yes but I worked up to it over quite a few months. I've found now that I just eat less generally.
Also eat masses of fruit while at work. When nectarines are in season I'll eat 16 most days.
I thought the sugar would be bad ?
What about nuts ? Good fats no sugar (eg almonds, walnuts , pecans) ?
Good fats are essential. I've never eaten so much fat in my life yet I lost 10kg and now I'm at my balance point - just remain there. Fruit is fine in moderation but only as long as it is in season. Our genome is not designed to cope with fruit grown all over the world and in season continually.
Got to be careful through its energy source is fructose and fructose needs to be digested through the liver. The same place that creates triglycerides to help store toxins in your fat cells. You don't use it will be stored in there.
so in moderation and when in season. Our ancestors did not gorge themselves on fruit in winter! Ancestors that lived not many generations ago - we still as yet share the systems evolved over millions of years. Systems that don't take kindly to the mass production and distribution of food - and the preservatives needed to allow this to happen. Don't believe me look up the latest obesity, diabetes and other major illness stats. We are becoming / have become a very sick animal.

To be honest his book is a good place to start and a good place to finish. Ive studies and read all sorts over the years - he seems to bring it all together in a no nonsense way.
9 days fast. Crikey Japie. The literature I've read says their is just as much benefit doing a 16/8 fast with the occasional 24 hr fast. No need to go overboard man. You could do more damage than good as your body starts compensating against the starvation.
