I'm building a SUP to a old mate 5ears experience SUPer used to ride longboard with some classic board from California as Hobie, Martinson, toes on nose series and other ones of that kind. So i keep in mind these 9' longboard premodern shape and designed this SUP for him to spend (our) winter in Sri Lankan waves:
i will put some picture of the board later on when it will come out from glassing job which i hope light to under 7kg finished board.

Benefits of teeny-tiny surf SUP boards.
Had an emergency board replacement due some complications with what was going to be my winter board, ended up going as small as I've ever attempted to ride: 7'4" x 27" x 4". After a few really fun days trying to figure it out I learned that there are some cool side effects to going small:

1) You are super sore (in a good way) after every session, so you actually feel like you were working hard.

2) You learn how to take off a lot deeper and a lot later, which is a really good skill to have. On bigger boards I've found that I kind of cruise in on the shoulder and thus miss a lot of the excitement of "making the drop".

3) After a long session on the small board, I come home and take absolutely epic naps.

4) Sometimes short board surfer guys give you props for paddling the little board.

5) Most importantly, and I am absolutely stoked on this: It got me out of a skill plateau that I didn't realize I was in for the last couple
years. It seems like the little board opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. Very cool to be taking different lines, and feeling
different feelings.

All in all, this has been a really cool experience. Anyone else have similar stories about dropping down in board size? I also want to give big mahalos to the guy who recommended the right board, I think he's a pretty famous countryman of yours, said his name was Kealoha Del Aboiturques or something like that. Nice guy.

How well it rows ? Or it just turns with every row ?
How easy to get onto a wave: small waves - medium waves - big waves ?

tell the dogman "your inner secrets"
Question and Answer time

I'm currently in the "infancy stage" of developinging a Range of high performance "Dogman Model" Sups for production with Surftech……Yewwwww!!!!!!!! as you can imagine I'm a little excited

so I'm putting out the question to you breezoids

to "hand over" a bit of feedback into the dimensions that "you'd like" to see and give it a name……?????

ATM... I'm thinking of a few different models...aimed at high performance

hybrid Snub nose 8'0 x 27. (swallow / roundedsquare tail) rabid dog model
a mutant board for liteweights to experienced middleweights.
the ultimate board to buy the girlfriend.....hahahahaha!!!!!!

high performance Hp nose 8'6 x 28. (swallow tail) daily kibble model
as suggested its my everyday board. 70 to 100kg
this has been my favourite size short sup for fulltilt rail turning at speed

high performance Hp nose pulled in tail 8'10 x 27 (swallow tail) the daily kibble model on steroids for 6ft+ cavern hunting. for when your bottom hand turn is the difference between you eating sh1t all day or getting the barrel of your life.. very wave......

big boys shorty Hp nose 9'3 x 30. (swallow / pin tail) truckstop model
the same board as the daily kibble just super sized up for my fellow maccas n hungryjacks lovers out there.......rock on gentlemen!!!!!!

And also thinking (and its a bit of a wild dream) of also including a High Performance Longboard style 10fter in the mix. (swallow / pin) the tornado twister model
Styled off the board woogie marsh smashed the hell out of first point, in the 10ft final at the nossa festival of surfing this year. (my old board the red rocket)
All the features of the existing 10'2 laguna bay model just refined for a rider with a more aggressive riding style to shred it from nose to tail!!!!!!!!

let us know what ya think??????

over n out.....10/4 rubber ducky
