old school
Ran in to a rare sight driving along the road today ,an old sailboard leaning up against a fence, turned around and called in to the house, hotel motel, spoke to the owner and he had these relics sitting around his beach accommodation, for art.
Thought some Torquay old salts would appreciate the good old day photos.
Bought the island energy, thruster for 30 bucks to surf on ,and just for fun will give the old girl one last sail before I cut the foot straps off, cheers

Would this work.....
I've got an old style wave/slalom board sitting in the shed - prob 1992 vintage.

I saw this ad on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Windsurfing-package-complete-2-boards-sails-mast-boom-and-harness-/150683028540?pt=AU_Sport_Surfing&hash=item2315688c3c#ht_531wt_1185

And so I had a look because i like these packages where they offer multiple boards and sails. I looked at the picture of the boards and I noticed on the Bombora Proto that the owner/or someone else had put in another mast track.

The one thing with the newer boards these days is the fact that the mast track is so much closer to the back of the board than the 80's/90's boards.

It got me to thinking that maybe i should glass a mast track in to my old glass board using the measurements of the newer boards and give it a go. Do you think it would work? I've got no idea of the mechanics or flow of boards, I just ride them.

Also noticed that there is a bombora tri-fin on ebay. I grew up with one of those boards - was my first short board and came with a mylar sail and rope universal. They were good days. I am actually thinking of buying the tri-fin for old times sake.
