Thanks TBM. Sunova was great with warranty replacements and the crew at surf fx on the Goldy were fantastic - they went above and beyond with the claims. The Sunovas all snapped at or close to the shaft and blade joint. QB just under my bottom hand on a turn. not having a crack at any brand, just looking for something more robust!

Great to hear that your experience with Sunova and Surf FX was the same as mine. Great team at both Sunova and Surf FX. I'm using my third Sunova paddle and still going strong but I'm nearing the time when the other two broke where the shaft meets the blade neck. Hopefully it will be ok. Otherwise I will be looking to this post to see what recommendations you get. All the best with the search and new paddle.

Not sure where you have snapped your paddles, was it the actual shaft or at the neck where the shaft attaches to the blade. I have broken two Sunova paddles where the shaft attaches to the blade. Sunova replaced both as it was deemed a manufacturing fault. Full credit to them. I look after my paddles very carefully when out of the water as any deep scratch or nick in the shaft will compromise its strength. See the link with Jim Terrell of Quickblade.

Love watching Ray surf. That classic drop knee turn and smooth synergy with the wave. He is both powerful and graceful. Love that he is surfing SUP as well as he longboards.

Sad to hear. They have always had great SUP boards and pushed progression forward. Still have and use a 2016 Naish Hokua Le 7' 8" x 27 3/4 96 L. Great board and still in excellent condition. Hopefully they can rise again but they are not the only SUP manufacture that are struggling.

Brilliant. Thank you for posting the article on Scott. I don't have FB. Really enjoyed reading about his journey and very much a fan of his designs. Power to the SUP Maniacs.
