Thanks very much @eppo for taking the time to post that info. For sure I have never managed to get the best out of the DWP foils and at 60yo and 94kg I probably never will. Might try and sell them on and put the cash towards a UHM. Sounds like the 870 would be the core size to start with, replacing the 980.

well this was my review of the 770 i put on the armstrong facebook page after my 3rd DW on it.

770 UHA Magic

Just did 18km DW in around 18- 20 knots on the 770 in weed that left every other rider totally despondent and exhausted - was just carpeted in the stuff in lines stretching as far as the eye could see.
I came in just utterly stoked. Weed . what weed!
The 770 / 140 just kept motoring on - sure you had to adjust and at times took of the the U in UHA. But She kept just motoring on and at no stage did i feel i was coming down.

Thanks for the post @eppo, I'm not on Facebook so if its not on here it passes me by, my choice.
Do you have any thoughts on the differences between HAv2 and UHA?
I'm on HA780, 980 and 1180 which I really enjoy riding but also use the DWP755 and 930, maybe not as often as I should.
Mostly wingfoil, parawing early days and SUP Foil and the HAv2 works for everything. Don't get to DW as much as I would like.
As usual FOMO is strong, but the wallet is light

I didn't buy the Gong inflatable as I have Armstrong foils and reading online it didn't look like they would work together.
My old Duotone 5'4" 103 litre inflatable board worked but not with my feet where the strap plugs were. I ride unstrapped anyway and had to stand on the footstrap mounting bumps. The foil was as far forward as it would go on the board.
I now have the Duotone Downwind Air 6'10" 105l and it works OK for wing and parawing. Gets going easily and only weighs 5kg.
It has no footstraps so suits me and there is much more freedom in where I place my feet. The foil is still slammed to the front of the boxes and I had to cut down a set of M7 screws for the HP Mast. Also DT made the bag much lighter so its an excellent option for airline travel. Works very well on the water, but there is always a slightly 'damped' feeling through your feet.

I will be in Fuerte for a month next week so will hopfully get a chance to see the board in action. There are some interesting ideas.
My parawing adventures have mostly been on an old beat up Gong Crusader Diamond which has worked fine. So I would agree that a specific parawing board isn't a must have for accessing PW. Some of my best parawing sessions have been on an Armstrong FG semi sinker. Although obviously it needs to be well powered up. Everyday is a school day, that's a lot of the enjoyment.

Are all the screws out? Sounds stupid but I have tried to get mine apart with the horizontal screw still there in the past.

Take the stab off and holding the mast tap the back end of the fuselage on some hard ground, stone, concrete whatever.
The tip is solid titanium, it will be fine and usually this just unseats the fuse from the mast. No need for a mallet ever.

Hope that helps

I'm with @Mark _australia on this one. Phones and watches are good for fun level tracking, speed recording and phoning the Boss when the session is great and you are going to be late home. For serious **** get an EPIRB, get it registered and most importantly carry it when you head offshore.
The modern ones like the Ocean Signal PLB1 have long battery life are really small and realtively cheap. Transmits your distress signal and GPS location which the rescue teams can trace. AFAIK they can't trace your phone or watch.
